Description
Planout has developed a spectacular visit to the Lighthouse of Cabo de Palos, where you can get to know its more than interesting history, anecdotes and of course, enjoy the wonderful views offered by its upper balcony at almost 80 meters high. Our guides will facilitate immersion in the history and culture of this enclave and monument that situates the Cartagenero coastline as the owner of the second tallest lighthouse in Spain. From its Roman origin as Capus Paludis, coming to mean “Cape of the lagoon” in clear allusion to the nearby Mar Menor and to the stagnation of its waters, until the modern era when the first permanent settlers, fishermen from the island of Tabarca, settled down at the end of the 19th century, we will review everything that surrounds this wonderful enclave on the coast of Cartagena.
